Zoologischer Garten (Zoological Garden)

The Zoologischer Garten is one of the best-known zoos in Europe, it contains about 2200 animals of about 260 species. This Zoo also has an aquarium and an open-air aviary, a Africa house, a ape house, terrariums, an elephant house and a tortoise house, that all demands a visit. The zoo has special areas for red pandas, snow leopards, clouded leopards, Amur leopards, otters and Indian lions. This is the perfect place to visit, especially if you are traveling with kids.

Zürcher Spielzeugmuseum (Zurich Toy Museum)

This toy museum is one of the oldest parts of Zurich. The toy collection is displayed on the fifth floor of a beautiful old house. It showcases over 1200 antique toys from all over Europe. Kids love this museum but it is a must see for the whole family.

Botanischer Garten

These gardens are breathtaking, they contain over 15 000 living species, including some rare species from New Caledonia and Southwest Africa. The herbarium section contains over three million plant species. These gardens are owned and maintained by the University of Zurich. It is the perfect place to go relax after a busy day in the town.

Zutgloggeturm (Clock Tower)

This Clock Tower was built in the 12th century and restored in the 16th century. It has become a very big attraction, as the tourists and locals gather in front of the tower, four minutes before every hour to witness the world's oldest and biggest puppet show. This show started in 1530, it's one of the longest running acts in show business. A definite must see, especially if you are traveling with kids.

Musée de l'Horlogerie (Watch Museum)

This little house showcases the history of watches and clocks from the 16th century. It has everything from sand timers to sundials on display, but although most exhibits are concerned with the watches of Geneva, usually from the 17th and the 18th centuries. The enameled watches of the 19th century are spectacular, many of these watches even have chimes that play when you open them.
